Requirements – @Home WorkBooth

If your system does not meet the minimum requirements or work correctly with TeleTech systems, we may recommend that you purchase additional equipment. Our technical group will attempt to recommend other solutions prior to suggesting a piece of hardware be purchased.

In the event that additional hardware is required, purchasing the equipment will be the sole responsibility of the user.

Applicants for @Home need to meet the following minimum system requirements and be able to pass all subsequent system assessments to TeleTech’s satisfaction.

PC Requirements


PC Requirements

 

Hardware

Minimum support hardware requirements:

  • Computer Type: Intel or AMD PC (NOT MAC, or TABLET)
  • Total Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz (Number of cores X CPU Speed)
  • RAM: 4GB minimum installed
  • Hard drive: Minimum 30GB total capacity, with 3GB free on C:\ drive for TeleTech applications
  • USB Ports: minimum of 2 free ports
  • Monitor: 17 inches or larger, supporting a minimum resolution of 1024 X 768, with a 32-bit display adapter
  • Sound: Full-duplex, 16-bit

 

Supported Operating Systems

Your PC hardware must support the minimum requirements specified by your Operating System.
All supported Windows Operating Systems must be Genuine and Licensed copies with the latest Service Pack, patches and updates installed;

  • Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (Home/Professional)
  • Windows 8.1 (Home/Pro)
  • Windows 10 (Home/Pro)

 

Unsupported Operating Systems

  • Windows Preview/Enterprise/Education (any version)
  • Windows 1.01 – 3.51
  • Windows 95, 98, 2000, 2003
  • Windows ME, Vista, XP
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 10 Insider Preview

 

Additionally, any operating system other than Microsoft Windows for PC is completely unsupported;

  • Windows Mobile (any version)
  • Chrome OS
  • Android (any version)
  • iOS (any version)
  • Linux (any version)
  • OSX (any version)
  • Unix (any version)
  • etc…

 

Headsets

If a headset is required by a project, any USB headset that works in Windows should work with WorkBooth.

Some considerations while purchasing a headset;

  • Comfort – You may have to wear this headset all day
  • Mute Button – WorkBooth provides a mute button on the phone
  • Volume Control Buttons – WorkBooth provides volume control on the phone

 

Security

Supported Antispyware / Antivirus

Applicants need to have one of the following Antivirus / Antispyware software loaded on their PC:

For Windows 7:

  • Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender

For Windows 8.1 and Windows 10:

 

Also note:

  • The above list is subject to change due to unforeseen vendor Antivirus / Antispyware updates
  • All virus / spyware definitions must be no older than 7 days
  • Only 1 Antivirus / Antispyware should be installed and enabled on the PC at a time

 

Firewall

Applicants need to have the following Firewall software enabled on their PC:

  • Windows Built-in (free)

 

Software

Malware

Applicants must ensure that no Malware is installed or running on their PC.
See Scan for Malware section for instructions and suggestions for detecting and removing Malware.
Malware can include:

  • Viruses
  • Worms
  • Trojan horses
  • Rootkits
  • Keyloggers
  • Spyware
  • Adware

Unsupported Software

TeleTech does not allow users to run CheckPoint within a virtual machine, and will notify users if they fail to meet this requirement.
All users must ensure that they are not running any virtualization software before starting CheckPoint, including;

  • Parallels
  • Oracle VM
  • QEMU
  • VirtualBox
  • Virtual PC
  • Xen
  • INTEGRITY
  • VMWare (VMWare Viewer is required)
  • etc…

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer® 11.x (Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Wndows 10)

 

Unsupported Web Browsers

 

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x – 10.x

Internet Connection Requirements

Supported Connection Types

 

  • hard wired (Ethernet)
  • Broadband connections:
    • DSL (aDSL,sDSL,vDSL,DryLoop)
    • Fiber (FTTN/FTTLA,FTTC/FTTK,FTTE/FTTZ,FTTP,FTTH,FTTD)
    • Cable

 

Unauthorized Connection Types

 

  • BPL (Broadband over Power Line)
  • PoE (Power over Ethernet)
  • Dial-Up (Phone and Modem, PSTN)
  • wireless (Wi-Fi)
  • Broadband Wireless connections:
    • Satellite
    • Microwave, Radio, WiMAX (line of sight)
    • 3G, 4G, LTE (cellular)

 

Connection Speed

Your download and upload connection speed must comply with the requirements below to be eligible for projects with TeleTech@Home

Connection Speed Download (Mbps) Upload (Mbps) Technically Compatible Projects
High 5 and above 3 and above Eligible for all current projects with TeleTech@Home
Medium 3 up to 5 2 up to 3 Eligible for most projects with TeleTech@Home, but currently not compatible for projects requiring a high connection speed.
Low 1 up to 3 500 up to 2 Eligible for projects that require low speed, but currently not compatible for projects requiring a medium or high connection speed.
Failed <1 <500 Not Technically compatible for any programs.

 

Stability

In order to work from home, your internet service must be 99.99% stable. In addition, we also have the following requirements for latency and packet loss:

  • Network Latency: 120ms when testing to a Denver, CO server is the maximum allowable latency. Faster is obviously better. If the fastest you can get is 120ms, consider upgrading your connection
  • Packet Loss: Maximum allowable packet loss is 0%

 

Telephone Service Requirements

No telephone service is required for most projects (TeleTech utilizes your internet for internal VoIP).

If a project requires a phone service the agent will be informed upon hiring.
VoIP telephony (Skype, Vonage, magicJack, etc) is completely UNSUPPORTED.
Additionally the phone service must meet the following requirements;

  1. POTS/PSTN/Landline (Plain Old Telephone Service)
    1. All telephone service features disabled:
      • Call Waiting
      • Call Forwarding
      • Voice Mail
      • Call Blocking
      • Anonymous Call Blocking
      • etc…
    2. If used with DSL (aDSL, sDSL, vDSL):
      • Use an RJ11 splitter to split off the phone line BEFORE the modem
      • Use a DSL Filter (microfilter) on the phone line AFTER the splitter
      • Use an additional phone line if technical issues arise
  2. Cable Digital Phone Service
    1. All telephone service features disabled:
      • Call Waiting
      • Call Forwarding
      • Voice Mail
      • Call Blocking
      • Anonymous Call Blocking
      • etc…
